Tue Dec 10th/ Wed Dec 11th (D1/D2)

How can we use probability and percent to create engaging board games?
  • Learning Goal A 2.1: I can show creative thinking
  • Learning Goal A 3.1: I can work cooperatively and collaboratively with a team
  • Learning Goal C 3.1: I can show percents that are: between 0% and 1%, greater than 100%, and percents that involve fractions
  • Learning Goal G 2.1: I can use sample space to represent probability as a fraction, decimal, and a percent
Day Plan:
  1. Hand out folders for each Team. Teams should collect all their work in their folders and will hand them in at the end of the day.
  2. Game Board Day.
    1. We are still in the planning stages and I recommend Teams plan well and make as many decisions as possible before they start building.
    2. Have Teams share with the class the plan for their board.
    3. Teams are to fill in the "Project Management Log: Group Tasks" before they begin.
    4. Teams are to remain seated together, or to move together to one of the small breakout spaces in the middle rooms.
    5. Teams could work toward playing their game together at 2:40 to see how it plays.
